Questions about learning Igbo with IgboLearn?
Find quick answers about how IgboLearn works, who it’s for, and how to fit Igbo into everyday life for you and your family.
Getting started
Who is IgboLearn for?
IgboLearn is for anyone who wants to speak or reconnect with Igbo – complete beginners, kids, Nigerians abroad, heritage speakers who understand more than they can say, and parents who want their children to grow up with the language.
Do I need any Igbo before using the app?
No. You can start from zero Igbo. Our beginner paths start with sounds, greetings, and very common words. You’ll see tone marks, hear native audio, and practise with short puzzles so nothing feels too heavy.
How much time do I need each day?
Most learners spend 10–15 minutes a day. Consistency matters more than long lessons. A quick lesson, one puzzle, or a word of the day is enough to keep your Igbo moving forward.
Kids & families
Can children use IgboLearn on their own?
Yes – many older kids can use IgboLearn independently, especially for puzzles and word of the day. For younger children, we recommend using the app together so you can guide them, repeat words out loud, and connect lessons to daily life.
I live abroad. Will this still help my kids learn Igbo?
Absolutely. IgboLearn is designed with diaspora families in mind. Short lessons, games, and stories make it easier to weave Igbo into English‑speaking homes. Many parents use the app so children can greet their grandparents and family confidently in Igbo.
Pricing & access
Is IgboLearn free?
IgboLearn has a free tier with access to selected lessons, puzzles, and dictionary features. You can explore the app at no cost and then choose a paid plan if you want full lesson paths, advanced puzzles, and AI features.
What do I get if I upgrade?
Paid plans unlock full lesson paths, more puzzles and practice modes, deeper dictionary and example content, and access to IgboLearn GPT tools for translations, explanations, and conversation practice.
How do I cancel my plan?
Your subscription is billed by the store you bought it from, so it is cancelled there rather than inside IgboLearn.
On Android — open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Select IgboLearn and tap Cancel subscription.
On iPhone or iPad — open the Settings app, tap your Apple ID name at the top, then Subscriptions. Select IgboLearn and tap Cancel subscription.
If you are not sure which store you used, contact support and we will check for you.
What happens to my access after I cancel?
Cancelling stops the next renewal — it does not end your plan straight away. You keep everything your plan includes until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account returns to the free tier.
Your progress, streak, saved words and history all stay on your account, and any coins you have already bought remain yours to spend. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and neither does deleting your account — cancel in the store first if you want the billing to stop.
